Prime Minister Han Duck-soo urged ministers to exert efforts toward stabilizing public livelihoods with a resolve to win the fight against inflation and high interest.
Presiding over a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Han said crises are never fair and harm the socially vulnerable, adding that young people in their 20s and 30s as well as the working class must not lose hope.
Referring to worldwide inflation, high interest and fluctuating oil prices, the prime minister said addressing livelihood issues should be prioritized above all else.
Han shared with the Cabinet President Yoon Suk Yeol's call prior to his departure for the Middle East on the weekend for officials to strive to conduct administrative duties while listening to the voices of the people.
He then urged officials, regardless of their rank, to leave their offices to meet with the public and to propose proactive measures that are timely and precise.
