South Koreans in Lebanon are continuing to evacuate to third countries amid escalating clashes between Israel and Hezbollah.

A foreign ministry official in Seoul told reporters on Tuesday that some 140 South Koreans are currently estimated to be in Lebanon, adding that the evacuation of Koreans in Lebanon is continuing.

As of last Friday, some 170 South Koreans were estimated to be in Lebanon, excluding members of the Dongmyeong unit operating as part of the United Nations Interim Force.

Last Thursday, the foreign ministry raised the travel advisory for all regions in Lebanon to Level Three, which strongly advises an immediate evacuation for nationals in the country.

In Israel, where the same travel advisory is in place, there are currently an estimated 450 South Koreans remaining.
