The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) gained 41-point-56 points, or one-point-81 percent, on Thursday, to close at two-thousand-343-point-12.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also jumped, climbing 33-point-61 points, or four-point-55 percent, to close at 772-point-84.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened 14-point-four won against the U.S. dollar, closing the day at one-thousand-342-point-nine won.
