A team of officials from Standard and Poors (S&P), a global credit rating agency, is to arrive in South Korea Tuesday for its annual credit rating talks.
The Ministry of Finance said Tuesday that the S&P team will hold talks with South Korean officials on the direction of the nation's key economic policies following the April 15th general elections and the Constitutional Court's rejection of President Roh Moo-hyun's impeachment by parliament.
During its three-day stay in Seoul, the delegation, led by managing director John Chambers, will also examine South Korea's structural reforms in financial, corporate and labor sectors as well as inter-Korean relations.
S&P currently maintains South Korea's sovereign rating at A-minus with a stable outlook.
Meanwhile, Moody's Investors Service last week revised the outlook for its A3 long-term currency rating on South Korea from "negative" to "stable."
