The 14th Anti-Drug Liaison Officials' Meeting for International Cooperation has opened in Gyeongju for a three-day run.

Some 130 officials from the drug-related international agencies of 16 countries around the world are participating in the forum organized by the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office.

In the opening ceremony on Wednesday, Prosecutor General Song Kwang-soo stressed the need to exert joint efforts to crack down on international drug trafficking and smuggling.

He said such cooperative endeavors would help realize the meeting's mission of establishing a healthy and bright future for mankind.
