In Moscow, the Russian government has officially denied reports that North Korean leader Kim Jong-il may visit Russia at the end of this month.

In an official statement, a Kremlin spokesman said the report is absolutely not true, but left open the possibility the North Korean leader might make a trip there before long.

Seoul-based Yonhap news agency, quoting sources in Beijing, said Thursday that Kim might visit Russia's Far East region around June 28.

Kim has made two public visits to Russia as North Korean leader, to Moscow in 2001 and Russia's Far East in 2002.
