South Korean business firms active in Iraq are scrambling to take security precautions after the kidnapping of a South Korean worker in the country.

The Korea International Trade Association convened an executive meeting Monday morning to discuss the issue as well as to seek measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring to other South Korean employees in Iraq.

The state-run Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency also advised South Korean nationals to refrain from traveling to the Gulf nation, as Koreans are increasingly becoming targets of terrorism following the Seoul government's announcement last week to send additional troops to Iraq.
