Officials from South Korea, the United States and Japan will meet on Tuesday, a day ahead of the third round of six-way nuclear talks.

An official of the South Korean delegation said Tuesday that the three countries will meet shortly after six-party working-level discussions on Pyongyang's atomic weapons program end on Tuesday morning.

At Monday's working group session, the two Koreas, the U.S., China, Japan and Russia exchanged views on a freeze-for-compensation deal in which Pyongyang would freeze its nuclear facilities in return for security assurances and economic incentives.

The official said the six parties agreed to hold the third round of main nuclear negotiations amid an 'open' atmosphere, with no set agenda.
