Exports decreased more than ten percent in the first ten days of February due to a decrease in the number of working days.

According to preliminary data from the Korea Customs Service on Tuesday, the country’s outbound shipments marked 15-point-01 billion U.S. dollars in the cited period, down 14-point-six percent year-on-year.

Average daily exports, however, increased eleven-point-seven percent with the number of working days decreasing by two days to six and a half.

Monthly exports posted growth for four months in a row from October to January.

Imports slipped 24-point-six percent from the same period last year to around 17 billion dollars during the period, resulting in a trade deficit of about two billion dollars.
