The government will likely ban South Korean civilians's visit to Pyongyang on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of former North Korean leader Kim Il-sung's death.

A government official said it would be difficult to allow such a visit considering a number of factors, including people's sentiment against it.

Meanwhile, Unification Minister Jeong Se-hyun said in a regular briefing that the matter must be considered from several viewpoints before reaching a decision.
