Civic groups are holding candlelight rallies for murdered South Korean hostage Kim Sun-il in Seoul and other cities Friday night.

On Thursday, citizens took to the streets for similar candlelight vigils across the nation for a second night.

In Seoul, some seven hundred citizens with paper-cupped candles in hands mourned the death of Kim, and called for the government to scrap its plan to dispatch troops to Iraq to avoid the recurrence of terrorist acts.

They also urged thorough investigations into the government's alleged mishandling of the kidnapping and killing of the hostage.
