South and North Korea will hold the second round of working-level military talks on Tuesday. The Defense Ministry said Monday the talks will follow up on previous bilateral agreements to ease tensions on the two Koreas' shared sea and land borders.
Officials from the two sides will meet in the South Korean border city of Paju, Gyeonggi Province, about 40 kilometers north of Seoul, at 10 a.m. The officials will review the results of the elimination of propaganda facilities along the military demarcation line (MDL) and discuss follow-up measures. At the first round of working-level military talks held earlier this month, the two Koreas agreed on a three-phase plan to remove all propaganda facilities along the MDL by August 15th. The ministry added that the two sides will also discuss the operation of wire and wireless communication systems between their naval vessels, the exchange of information on illegal fishing vessels, as well as ways to prevent accidental armed clashes at their disputed western sea border.
