The candidate list includes relics from the ancient Goguryeo kingdom separately submitted by North Korea and China. The two countries geographically shared the boundaries of the ancient dynasty, and have been embroiled in a dispute over claims to the history of the Goguryeo kingdom.
South Korea's head delegate to the session, Park Heung-shin, said the 21-member-committee has positively reviewed the relics and said it would only be a matter of time before they are inscribed into the World Heritage list 2004.
