Four people are dead, two missing and one injured in the wake of heavy rainfall spawned by Typhoon Mindulle over the weekend.

Two people, one each in Gangwon Province and South Jeolla Province, were reported killed after being swept away by rain-swollen waters.

In Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, one person was killed after a factory wall collapsed. In Seoul, a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a roadside tree branch that snapped in strong winds.

Typhoon Mindulle caused heavy rain across the country, particularly in southern provinces, with some areas seeing up to 140 millimeters of rainfall over the weekend.

The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters estimated that as of Monday morning, around 300 houses and 190 hectares of farm land have been flooded in the Jeolla Provinces.

The Korea Meteorological Administration lifted its typhoon alert at noon Sunday after Mindulle was downgraded to a tropical depression in the waters some 200 kilometers off Jeju Island.

Typhoon Mindulle is the seventh typhoon spawned in the West Pacific this summer.
