The National Intelligence Service says it will accept the National Assembly's call to summon Kim Hyun-hee, the convicted culprit of the 1987 bombing of a Korean Air flight, if parliament passes a special bill allowing a re-investigation of the incident.
An NIS official said Tuesday that if the National Assembly re-opens investigations into the controversial bombing incident, the spy agency would have no choice but to make public the whereabouts of Kim.
She is known to be living in Seoul under government protection after being exempted from the death penalty in 1990.
The official said, however, that Kim, who often changes residences to keep herself concealed, is highly reluctant about revealing herself to the public.
