South Korea's consumer confidence has dropped to its lowest level this year as of June.
The National Statistical Office said Thursday that the "consumer expectation index" fell to 92 from 95 in May, dropping for the second consecutive month after rising to a 19-month high of almost 100 in April.
An NSO survey of two-thousand households nationwide also showed the "consumer present situation index" sliding more than three points to 67 last month. The index compares the view of the overall economic and spending conditions six months ago with those of the present.
The drop in both the future and present indexes is seen as pointing to further trouble for the domestic economy in the second half of the year.
