Seoul will host an international symposium next week to determine agendas for the 2005 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting.

Government officials from APEC nations, including the United States, Australia, Mexico, Russia and China, as well as civil experts and 100 business figures will participate in the symposium to exchange views on prospective agendas.

Once selected, the main agendas for the annual meeting of Asia-Pacific leaders will be discussed at APEC summit talks, ministerial talks and senior-level meetings throughout the year.

Chile, which chairs this year's APEC talks, has chosen "One Community, Our Future" for the 2004 theme.

South Korea is to chair next year's APEC economic forum. The Foreign Ministry says South Korea will select agendas for the 2005 APEC forum in accordance with APEC's pursuit of joint prosperity in the region.
