Working-level talks between the U.S. and Japan will convene on Thursday in San Francisco to discuss the issue of U.S. forces redeployment in Japan, Japanese media outlets reported Saturday. During the two-day meeting, the U.S. will outline its plan to redeploy its forces stationed in Japan, including the possible relocation of a U.S. Army headquarters base and a Marine Corps base. Quoting sources, the Japanese Sankei Shimbun newspaper said the meeting would be a chance for Japan to review the U.S. proposal and therefore both sides are not expected to reach a conclusion in the meeting.
