the Haekumgang Hotel in the scenic seaside resort Sunday afternoon after crossing the inter-Korean border from Sokcho, Gangwon Province on the East Coast.

The separated families met one hundred relatives from North Korea in a two-hour group reunion at the Onjonggak pavilion later in the day. The reunions were followed by a welcoming dinner and individual reunions.

The South Korean group includes Moon Jae-in, Presidential Secretary for Civic Affairs who, with his 77-year-old mother reunited with his aunt in the North. Veteran South Korean actor Kim Moo-saeng was also reunited with his uncle in more than five decades.
