The 8th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival kicked off on Thursday for a ten-day run.

A total of 261 films from 32 countries will be featured in nine theaters in the satellite city situated in Gyeonggi Province, west of Seoul.

"King of Ants," directed by horror-comedy cineaste, Stuart Gordon, is the opening film at the festival. The event is scheduled to close with South Korean director Ahn Byung-ki's "Bunshinsaba," which mined a 4-million dollar foreign distribution deal solely on the base of its trailer, before post-production on the film had wrapped.
