A new poll shows President Yoon Suk Yeol's approval rating fell slightly over the past week to remain in the 20-percent range.
According to the survey conducted by Gallup Korea on one thousand one adults nationwide from Tuesday to Thursday, 28 percent of respondents approved of Yoon's handling of state affairs, down one percentage point from last week's survey. A majority 63 percent of respondents disapproved of his job performance.
Yoon’s approval rating remains in the 20-percent range for the 12th consecutive week since the ruling People Power Party(PPP) suffered a crushing defeat in the April general elections.
Meanwhile, the approval rating for the PPP and the main opposition Democratic Party(DP) stood at 35 percent and 27 percent, respectively, both unchanged from the previous week.
The survey had a confidence level of 95 percent with a margin of error of plus or minus three-point-one percentage points.
