The U.S. Army has begun hauling military supplies along the border with North Korea to Busan harbor, preparing them for shipment to Iraq.

The U.S. military newspaper, Stars & Stripes, said Thursday the logistical operation is a part of the planned redeployment of three thousand-600 troops from the frontline U.S. 2nd Infantry Division to Iraq in mid-August.

The paper says the transportation of materials needed for the U.S. troops' Iraq operations began last Wednesday.

The supplies subject to the transportation include Abram tanks, Bradley Fighting Vehicles, Humvees and other military hardware arrayed along the border with North Korea.

This is only the second time for a brigade-strong American unit to move out of the country since 1991 and the first time for a frontline U.S. division in Korea to be redeployed to another strategic region.
