Gov't Steps up Efforts to Deal with China's History Distortion

The government is stepping up countermeasures against China& 039 s alleged moves to distort the history of the ancient Korean kingdom of Goguryeo.
Presiding over an inter-ministerial policy coordination meeting, Prime Minister Lee Hae-chan ordered the Foreign Ministry and other relevant ministries to set up a working-level state committee on the history of Goguryeo.
The government also plans to deal with the matter by holding international academic exchanges to be organized by the Goguryeo Research Foundation, established in March.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry recently eliminated the ancient Goguryeo Kingdom from a description of Korean kingdoms on the ministry& 039 s Internet Website.
