Reports of computer hacking originating from China were found to have risen by 17 times in the first half of this year from the same period last year.

The Korea Information Security Agency said Saturday it received a total 10, 600 reports of such hacking incidents compared to 630 last year.

In the same period, it said, incidents of hacking originating from the U.S. had fallen to 450 from 530 reported last year.
