A high-ranking U.S. official says there is strong evidence implying a close connection between North Korea and Iran in developing their ballistic missile programs.
The official, currently visiting Japan, said the North had secretly received missile technology from Iran, even as it announced a temporary suspension of its missile tests.
The official said this information had prompted U.S. President George Bush to include North Korea in the so-called "axis of evil."
