Young aspiring astronauts from around the world will gather in Seoul to take part in an annual meet, which will be held at the Olympic Park for four days beginning August 5th. The annual meet, hosted on a rotating basis by member countries of the Young Astronauts International, invites students from around the world to take part in various scientific exchanges. This is the second time South Korea is hosting the event since the 6th YAI meet held in Daejeon in 1993. This year, nearly 4,500 members of the YAI will take part in the annual gathering. Events include model rocket launch competitions, scientific research competition and cultural events.
