Voters across the United States have cast ballots in the presidential election between Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump.

According to figures released by CNN, Trump was in the lead with 266 electoral votes and 51-point-two percent of the popular vote, while Harris had 188 electoral votes with 47-point-2 percent of the popular vote as of 4:30 p.m. Korea Standard Time.

U.S. presidents are elected by the Electoral College, and a candidate needs at least 270 Electoral College votes to win.

Meanwhile, CNN has projected that Republicans will win the U.S. Senate, which would “significantly shift the balance of power in Washington.”
