The Presidential Office expects to promptly arrange contact between President Yoon Suk Yeol and the U.S. president-elect once the results of the election are announced.

A senior presidential official said Wednesday that the top office has maintained close communication with key aides from both the Democratic and Republican presidential campaigns.

They added that the top office has been in talks with advisers who have experience working in previous administrations.

First Deputy Director of National Security Kim Tae-hyo said in a briefing that as voting in the U.S. presidential election concludes and North Korea continues to present an ever-growing security threat, the top office will work with the new administration in the U.S to establish a flawless Seoul-Washington security posture.
