Trump Claims Victory in Presidential Race against VP Harris

Anchor: Donald Trump has declared himself the victor in the U.S. presidential election after winning the key swing states of Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia. Ballots in other key states are still being counted.

Report: Donald Trump has claimed victory over Kamala Harris in the U.S. election as ballots in key states are still being counted.
 
The Republican former president addressed his supporters in West Palm Beach, Florida, in the early hours of Wednesday after winning the key swing states of Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia.

“I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected your 47th president, and your 45th president …"
“I will not rest until I have delivered the strong, safe and prosperous America that our children deserve.”

Trump called his campaign “the greatest political movement of all time” and pledged that his second term will usher in the “Golden Age of America.”

As of Wednesday evening Korea Standard Time, Trump had a commanding lead with 266 electoral votes and 51 percent of the popular vote, while Harris had 219 electoral votes with 47-point-3 percent of the popular vote, according to projections by CNN. Major U.S. news outlets have not yet called the presidential election.
 
U.S. presidents are elected by the Electoral College, and a candidate needs at least 270 Electoral College votes to win.
