President Yoon Suk Yeol has congratulated former U.S. President Donald Trump as Trump claimed victory on election night.

Yoon posted his message to Trump on social media platform X, saying, "Under your strong leadership, the future of the ROK-U.S. alliance and America will shine brighter. Look forward to working closely with you."

In a separate post, Yoon also congratulated Korean American Democratic Rep. Andy Kim for winning a Senate seat in the U.S. general election.
