Main opposition Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung said Thursday that he didn’t think President Yoon Suk Yeol would win over the nation with the remarks he made at his press conference earlier in the day. 

Speaking to reporters, Lee made the assessment while acknowledging that he had yet to take a close look at the president’s remarks.

When asked if he thought ruling People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon would agree to a meeting with Lee after watching the event, Lee said Han seems to be in an awkward situation.

This was an apparent reference to Han’s alleged rift with the president.

Lee, who has previously called for a meeting with Han, said this is a time when they should talk.
