Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reportedly said Thursday that “losses” have already been recorded among North Korean troops in Russia’s Kursk region in combat against Ukrainian forces.

According to Reuters and AFP on Thursday, Zelenskyy made the remarks in a press conference after the European Political Community Summit in Budapest, Hungary.

Zelenskyy did not specify how many North Korean soldiers have been killed or wounded.

The Ukrainian president reportedly said he believes North Korea will send more troops to assist Russia unless action is taken in response.

The United States and other Western countries believe that about ten-thousand North Korean soldiers are present in the Kursk region.
