Born in Incheon, South Korea, Kim entered U.S. politics as an aide to former Congressman Ed Royce before being elected as California’s state assemblywoman in 2014.
In the House of Representatives, Kim sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where since February 2023 she has been chairwoman of the Indo-Pacific Subcommittee.
