The North Atlantic Treaty Organization(NATO), along with its Indo-Pacific partners, including South Korea, strongly denounced North Korea's troop deployment to Russia in support of its military offensive against Ukraine.
In a statement on Friday, NATO's top decision-making North Atlantic Council(NAC) strongly condemned the decisions by the leaders of Russia and the North to dangerously expand Russia's unprovoked war against Ukraine.
The statement said North Korea's "substantive support" to Russia's war efforts, also including provision of ammunition and ballistic missiles, constitutes a dangerous expansion of ongoing support for Russia's illegal war of aggression.
The NAC said the two countries' increasing military cooperation is a breach of multiple United Nations Security Council(UNSC) resolutions, and that it is particularly egregious, given that Russia is a permanent UNSC member.
The statement said Russia asserting that the North's denuclearization is "off the table" is unacceptable, pledging to continue working with partners in the Indo-Pacific to prevent Russia and those facilitating its war effort from undermining regional and global stability.
