Search for 12 missing crew members of a fishing boat that sank in waters off Jeju Island continued for the second straight day on Saturday.
According to the Jeju branch of the Korea Coast Guard, a remotely operated vehicle(ROV) is set to be submerged once in the morning and again in the afternoon for search of the seabed.
A camera attached to the ROV will also be used to verify where and how the sunken Geumseong vessel is currently placed at the bottom of the ocean, measured to be up to 90 meters below sea level.
While 27 divers from the Coast Guard are on standby to continue searching for the missing crew members, 53 military vessels and fishing boats, as well as nine planes, are expected to be dispatched for the search on the water surface.
A search inside the boat is unlikely to happen on Saturday, as a team of 12 deep sea divers and a crane barge are set to arrive Sunday night.
The boat was carrying 27 crew members, including16 South Koreans and eleven Indonesians. Fifteen were rescued, but two of them, both South Koreans, were later pronounced dead.
