The average prices of gasoline and diesel both increased for the fourth consecutive week.
According to the Korea National Oil Corporation's(KNOC) price information system Opinet on Saturday, the average price of gasoline rose 13-point-one won on-week to one-thousand-613-point three won per liter, or one U.S. dollar and 15 cents, in the first week of November.
This marks a continuation of last week’s rise, which brought the average price above one-thousand-600 won for the first time in four weeks.
The average price of diesel also went up by 13 won to one-thousand-441-point-eight won per liter.
International oil prices rose this week due to factors such as the delayed timing of OPEC+ production cuts and disruptions in U.S. oil production from hurricanes.
An official from the Korea Petroleum Association predicted that oil prices are expected to continue rising through next week, as the fuel tax is reinstated.
