K-pop boy band SEVENTEEN has received a certificate of appreciation from Los Angeles for their contribution to music and youth empowerment. 

Joshua, the LA-native of the 13-member group, accepted the honor on behalf of SEVENTEEN at the invitation of the LA City Council on Friday, local time.

The certificate of appreciation is given to those who have contributed to the art, culture and community of the city. The group was recognized for running the "SEVENTEEN THE CITY LOS ANGELES" project, which has decorated downtown LA and key landmarks with SEVENTEEN-themed displays. 

“SEVENTEEN THE CITY LOS ANGELES” will run through Monday, with the group set to wrap up their U.S. tour with two sold-out shows at the BMO Stadium in LA this weekend.
