The search for missing crew members continued for the fourth straight day on Monday, after a fishing boat sank in waters off Jeju Island.
According to the Jeju branch of the Korea Coast Guard, 47 vessels and eight aircraft were dispatched to search for the eight South Koreans and two Indonesians who remain missing.
The search area covers 28 kilometers by 64 kilometers, as well as the coast, and a remotely operated vehicle is set to be submerged four times throughout the day.
Four civilian deep-sea divers and a crane barge arrived at the site Sunday, and five more divers arrived Monday.
The Navy and the Coast Guard are expected to decide in the afternoon when the divers can enter the water.
The 129-ton fishing boat, the Geumseong, was carrying 27 crew members when it sank early Friday in waters 22 kilometers northwest of Jeju’s Biyang Island.
Fifteen crew members were rescued Friday, but two were later pronounced dead and two bodies were recovered on the weekend.
