The Seoul Metropolitan Government will enforce comprehensive measures to control traffic when the annual college entrance exam takes place on Thursday.

According to city officials on Monday, work hours at public offices in the city will start an hour late at 10 a.m. Thursday to prevent exam-takers from running late on their way to test sites due to traffic congestion.

Increased subway operation during morning rush hour will be extended to between 6 and 10 a.m., while intra-city buses will run with a minimum interval.

More than 670 vehicles will be on standby near subway and bus stations to transport exam-takers running late in trying to get to the test site free-of-charge.

Inspection and construction at subway stations close to test sites will be temporarily halted during the exam.

Vehicles stopping or parking nearby schools and subway stations within a two-kilometer radius of each test site will be ticketed to minimize traffic congestion.
