President Yoon Suk Yeol will visit Peru and Brazil between this coming Thursday and next Thursday to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and Group of 20 summits.

During his trip to South America, Yoon will also work to arrange bilateral meetings with the leaders of Japan and China while also seeking to hold a Seoul-Washington-Tokyo trilateral summit.

According to principal deputy national security adviser Kim Tae-hyo during a briefing at the presidential office on Tuesday, Seoul will seek to implement its diplomacy as a global pivotal state on the multilateral stage.

First lady Kim Keon-hee will not accompany the president on this trip.
