The government has announced Seoul will be the site for an annual international forum on government innovation next year.
A spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office said Wednesday that the decision was reached at the end of a meeting of officials of related government agencies presided over by Prime Minister Lee Hae-chan.
The spokesman said the 6th Global Forum on Reinventing Government will run for four days from May 24th. It would be the first time for the meeting to be held in Asia since it was first organized by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore in 1999.
The forum, to be jointly hosted with the United Nations, will provide a venue for some 5,000 former and incumbent state leaders and international organization officials to exchange views on government innovation.
