A group representing families of South Koreans abducted by North Korea plans to launch leaflets toward North Korea from waters off the coast of Goseong, Gangwon Province.

The group made the announcement Thursday, having called off plans to launch leaflets last month due to opposition from local governments and border area residents.

The association said its members would leave Goseong’s Geojin Port in two fishing boats, with the date yet to be determined based on weather conditions.

It added that the launch could happen as early as this month.

The group plans to send around 50-thousand leaflets using balloons, along with photos of abduction victims and one-dollar bills.
