South Korea’s benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) has slipped below the two-thousand-400 mark for the first time since August’s “Black Monday.”

The KOSPI fell below two-thousand-400 at 9:33 a.m. Friday and was trading at two-thousand-390 as of 9:45 a.m., down about one percent from the previous day.

It marks the first time that the index has dipped below the two-thousand-240 mark during a session since Monday, August 5, or Black Monday.

Stock prices rose more than three percent for Samsung Electronics and more than two percent for SK hynix.

But LG Energy Solution, one of the largest battery makers in the world, saw the price of its stocks fall by more than eight percent as of Friday morning.

The tech-laden KOSDAQ is trading at around 670, down more than one percent from the closing price for the previous session.
