President Yoon Suk Yeol has arrived in Brazil to attend the Group of 20(G-20) summit after concluding his four-day trip to Peru for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit.

The presidential jet landed Sunday night in Rio de Janeiro, the second stop of his South American trip.

Yoon is scheduled to attend G-20 summit meetings from Monday to Tuesday.

He will attend the launch of the Global Alliance for Hunger and Poverty on Monday and outline Seoul’s strategy to deal with global hunger. 

On Tuesday, Yoon will propose global initiatives to combat climate change and accelerate the transition to clean energy during a G-20 session.

Yoon’s office said it is working to arrange separate summit talks with the leaders of South Africa, Mexico and Indonesia on the margins of the G-20 summit.
