JCS Issues Warning against N. Korea’s Trash Balloon Campaign

The South Korean military has issued a warning to North Korea in response to the continued launching of trash balloons across the border.

In a statement on Monday, the Joint Chiefs of Staff(JCS) urged the North not to further test the South Korean military’s patience, saying North Korea is “crossing the line.”

The South Korean military confirmed that the North sent some 40 trash balloons Monday morning, with 20 of them falling on the South’s capital region.

The JCS said North Korea has disregarded repeated warnings and is now crossing the line.

All responsibility for the consequences lies with the North, the warning continued.

Since May 28, the North has launched thousands of trash balloons on 31 occasions.
