Pianist Lim Yunchan has won the Diapason d’Or in the young musician category.

According to his agency, Mok Production, the 20-year-old was declared the winner on November 13 for his album “Chopin: Etudes,” released in April.

France’s Diapason d’Or is one of the most prestigious awards in the classical music industry.

Each month, the French magazine Diapason announces the albums that show outstanding artistic achievements and at the end of the year, the best in each category receives the annual prize.

Last month, Lim became the first South Korean to win the Gramophone Classical Music Award in the piano category, while also being named Young Artist of the Year at the 2024 Gramophone Classical Music Awards.
