Railway workers’ work-to-rule protest entered its third day on Wednesday, causing subway delays in the Seoul metropolitan area.

According to the Korea Railroad Corporation, as of 8 a.m. Wednesday, eight out of 288 trains in the capital region saw delays of more than 20 minutes during the morning rush hour.

Seoul subway lines 1, 3 and 4 were affected, as well as the Suin-Bundang and Gyeongui-Jungang lines.

But the high-speed KTX and other regular trains are operating on schedule.
The union is demanding additional personnel and a two-point-five percent increase in the base salary.

The union plans to hold a press conference at 11 a.m. Thursday at Seoul Station to announce details of a planned general strike.
