President Yoon Suk Yeol has returned from a weeklong trip to Peru and Brazil, where he attended the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation(APEC) and Group of 20(G20) forums.
The presidential plane carrying Yoon and his entourage landed at Seoul Air Base in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, around 5:40 a.m. Thursday.
Yoon, who left for the South American trip last Thursday, attended the APEC summit in Lima and then traveled to Rio de Janeiro to join the G20 summit.
During his four-day stay in Lima, Yoon held a trilateral summit with U.S. President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba as well as separate bilateral talks with Ishiba and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the APEC summit.
In the talks, Yoon and the other two leaders discussed responses to the presence of North Korean troops in Russia and other regional and global issues.
At the APEC and G20 summits, Yoon strongly condemned the illicit military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang and called on the international community to join forces to stop it.
