Viewer numbers and ticket sales for domestic films fell in October, hitting their lowest levels so far this year due to the lack of a new box office hit.

According to data from the Korean Film Council on Thursday, three-point-07 million moviegoers attended South Korean film screenings last month, down 28-point-six percent from a year earlier.

Ticket sales dropped 26-point-nine percent on-year to 30-point-eight billion won, or around 22 million U.S. dollars.

Three movies that were released last month, romantic drama “Love in the Big City,” thriller-drama “A Normal Family” and comedy-drama “Amazon Bullseye,” all fell short of attracting one million viewers.

The number of moviegoers attending foreign films, on the other hand, increased 23-point-three percent on-year to three-point-21 million in October, while ticket sales jumped 21-point-three percent to 19-point-one billion won.
