Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang reportedly said that his firm is working as fast as it can to certify Samsung Electronics' AI memory chips.
According to Bloomberg News, Huang made the remarks to Bloomberg TV on Saturday at an event at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
The CEO reportedly said that Nvidia is reviewing Samsung's 8 and 12 high HBM3E offerings.
Samsung Electronics announced during its Q3 earnings conference call on October 31 that it is currently mass-producing both eight-layer and 12-layer HBM3E products, claiming that the company has achieved "meaningful progress" in meeting quality testing requirements for a "major customer" in apparent reference to Nvidia.
Bloomberg, however, said that Samsung was not named as a major partner during Nvidia's recent post-earnings call, as Huang pointed out partnerships with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Amphenol, SK Hynix, Foxconn, Micron Technology, and Dell Technologies.
Currently, SK Hynix is the major supplier of HBM products for Nvidia.
